It’s that time of year again. The time when I take stock, take some rest, share lovely times with friends and family … and write a poem or reflection for my monthly Blog post!
This year, I’m focusing on Gratitude .. and using the word to give me the starting letter of each paragraph (the traces of engineer in me likes the structured approach to creativity!)
Here goes:

Grateful am I for all those that read this reflection.. because many of you are known to me and have left a trace on my life that shapes my experiences and who I am but also some are not known but have taken the time to be curious.

Rarely do we pause enough to be truly grateful for all of the positive impacts on our day – from the feeling of sunshine on our face, to someone letting us join the road into a queue of traffic , from a prior coaching client sending an unprompted end of year email thanking me for the impact I have had on them, to a friend suggesting me for some work at their organisation.

A good practice for 2026 could be to make gratitude a habit. Whenever I open my email app I could take a moment to be grateful and be sure to share it if related to someone in particular. Could you do the same?

To all of my clients- thank you for putting your trust in me to support your journey of growth – whether as individual or team coaching clients, as a team of leaders enabling me to guide your strategy days, or as an eager learner taking part in a development programme.

I am fortunate to have made choices that steered my career to where it is today – one where I get to do what I love pretty much on a daily basis. I’m grateful to the ‘me’ that came before for making those choices and for those that believed in me and encouraged me to go after them.

Today, on the 23rd December, I’m taking a moment to appreciate the new connections that I made in 2025… those of you that are fellow business owners supporting me and each other, those of you that helped me learn about myself as I partnered with you, and those of you in my personal life that helped enrich my leisure time too (the hockey community are a lovely, friendly bunch!)

Understanding the importance of relationships – this is something that I feel became much clearer to me in 2025… taking time for those that bring meaning and happiness to our lives and giving time to them as they do to us.

Do you spend time on gratitude? When gratitude opens your heart, and you share it, it strengthens relationships and helps those relationships withstand more testing times – imagine sharing this with all of your key relationships and how this might feel.

Enriched – that’s what I feel from the generosity of others to me this year – from the thanks shared to me when people took the time to feedback at the end of our coaching partnerships to the kindness and support from many, many people when my Mum passed away. I look back on 2025 grateful for so much. What are you grateful for in 2025?
